Last Call Chernobyl

Best Artist / Band To Turn Up Loud
Melissa Dubé

It's been a very good couple of years for the young Halifax metal act Last Call Chernobyl. After spending a wild summer on the road with the Vans Warped Tour, the band is gearing up for the ECMA Loud Tour coming up next month and have also been nominated for the ECMA Loud Recording of the Year. The Coast BoM nod is a sweet addition to this blitz of good fortune, and singer Kyle Mahar is appropriately floored. "The metal scene here really isn't that big, and we're just four guys who jam and write music in a basement," he says. "It's so great that people care enough to vote for us." LCC have a new music video and EP in the works, and with their touring hides hardened by Warped Tour, they plan to hit the road again in the near future. "We always find time to tour and play shows," Mahar says. "It's in our blood." ---AL
