Los Lonely Boys
Sacred
(Columbia)
Los Lonely Boys broke onto the scene from relative obscurity to score a huge hit single “Heaven”—and people flocked to their local record store to grab a copy of the band’s debut. Now raise your hand if you can name any other Los Lonely Boys songs. While being talented, the music is the aural equivalent of a screen saver—there is no lasting impression. The sophomore release Sacred is decent, but by the time track three hits you’ve already forgotten that the play button has been pressed. Their smooth, pop-oriented Texican rock is just too safe. Lead single “My Way” is too bland to stand out from the Santana tracks that continue to pour out of top 40 radio.
