For Toronto-based musician Julie Fader, heading out east to play Halifax’s new music and arts festival is a spring treat. “Getting on a plane with my guitar to come and see so many friends and put together a Hali band over the weekend before my show? Crazy fun,” she writes, emailing on a short coffee trip from a mid-week lakeside hangout. While her guitar-playing callouses are suspiciously missing---Fader admits she’s been working almost exclusively on her paintings, temporarily forgetting about the world of music---she sounds more than ready to bring it all together at Sunday’s show.
