Life in a Day

Directed by Ridley Scott (Mongrel)

life-in-a-day-review.jpg

Life in a Day is a documentary filmed in a single day---July 24, 2010 to be exact---by people all around the world. The film explores the general themes that bind global societies such as love, death, birth, fear and our all-around attempts at survival in our daily life. As the film was made in partnership with YouTube, there are a few self-indulgent video diaries occupying a bit too much of the film. But in doing so, Life in a Day is a perfect snapshot of what it was like to be alive in 2010, and how our lives and realities are increasingly shaped by our relationships with our cameras.
