Letters to the Editor

It sure is a busy time of year, what wth christmas/holiday shopping and all, but that doesnt excuse rude and abusive behavior towards mall, department store or supermarket staff. I work cart return at a supermarket ( i wont say which one) and i have to say the staff is great, managment is great, and our customers are mostly nice, decent people. This saturday (Dec 3rd), however, i ran into one of the not-so-great customers. Some jerk decided that it was a good idea to kick me in the back in response to me allegedly bumping into him with a shopping cart. Guess what guy, the stores survailence camera's show me nowhere near you, but they sure show your ugly mug kicking me in the back. Too bad i only have your picture and not your name, now i cant give you your chirstmas present; an assualt charge and a lawsuit. I havent hit anybody since i was twelve, looks like you have a lot of growing up to do. The proper response to being bumped (which wasnt the case here) would be to let the person who bumped into you know they had done it so they could have apologized (which i would have done) not kick them in the back when they arent looking. (If anyone knows anything about this guy and wants to help me deliver his present please email me at Nobody should have to put up with this when they go to work. it would be nice if we could all remember that the holiday season can be stressful for everyone and treat each other with respect. This time of year is supposed to be about good tidings, peace on earth, and other pleasent sentiments, not threats and/or acts of violence. To the gentle(?)man who thought it prudent to assault me, ill be waiting for my apology, you know where to find me.

Should council use the yet-to-be-finalized Centre Plan when debating new developments?

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
