Letters to the Editor

Lezlie Lowe's very lame counterpoint to squeegee legislation is just about the quality of journalism you'd read off the side of a Cheerios box.

Our story's heroine, Ms. Talbot, is as Lowe puts it, 'more articulate and well-spoken than practically every other 21 year old I've ever met.

Yeah, she's damn smart. While the rest of us do not take from the welfare trough and choose to actually be employed, and then turn around and pay taxes to support universal healthcare among many other services (including education which she intends to also tap into), Danielle Talbot simply takes and takes, and gives nothing back other than a crappy windshield job at best. These kids are not stupid, lazy, or lacking of creativity. They are sucking what they can from a system they contribute nothing to.

Someone from Social Services should kick her sorry ass off welfare for effectively double-dipping.

Where does Lowe commend the actual working poor who number in the thousands in this city alone, who toil long hours at minimum wage at two or three jobs to provide for themselves? If every person who didn't have enough for the occasional feast of Chinese food walked through traffic begging for tax-free coinage, there'd be bodies everywhere. And when Danielle Talbot has her foot run over or gets knocked up, who do you think will cover her medical costs?

You, me, and all those obvious not-so-smart people working two or three jobs.
