Letters to the Editor

Anger, fear, concern..... I could use and endless array of words to describe how I feel when crossing the streets of Halifax. Drivers have become out of control, mindlessly speeding down the streets of our city. Thinking about everything under the sun, the appointment that they're late for, the fight they had, what they had for breakfast for all I know. Heck half of them listening to their music so loud, or talking on a cell phone. And your telling me they're paying attention the roads?About a month ago two of my closest friends were hit by a car IN A MARKED CROSSWALK where there was more than sufficient light. Not to mention it was within eyes view of a playground, at 7pm. Enough said?People treat Lacewood Drive as some sort of racing strip and as a result my friends are happy to be alive. But not without injury:9 staples, torn ligaments, black eyes, bruises, bone having to be replaced with a metal plate and 9 pins. The sadest part being this seems to be a regular occurence in this city recently. If you cant be safe stay off the road!
