Letters to the Editor

last week's "love the way we bitch" column featured a university graduate snubbing his nose at the current students struggling with their finances. I felt offended when I read it, not by the author (there is no limit to the amount of mean-spirited garbage people will write when they can hide behind the anonymity that the internet provides ) but by you, for putting this insult in print. Class inequalities are an unfortunate fact of life; another unfortunate fact of life is that with some of the lowest public subsidizing in the country, atlantic universities need increasing tuition revenue to function; and some people never get the chance to earn a degree.last weeks column seemed to revel in this unfairness, and the author seemed to celebrate screwing over the people that didn't have the benefits he was probably born into. Of course, we can't know that for certain, because he made is point only in a venue where he could keep his name hidden; I doubt that he would have had the nerve to say this publicly. In future, please keep this sort of inflammatory tripe out of your otherwise fine paper.
