Letters to the Editor

To the editor,

I see all kinds of apartment buildings go up in places like the South end. Though I never see apartment buildings go up in places where they're needed like Spryfield. Which makes me think that the people who run Halifax don't care about the poor. Halifax needs more affordable housing.

Who would want to live in those or could afford them anyway besides university students that go to Dal and only live there temporarly? The irony of it all is they'd make more money building apartments in Spryfield (or any other area other than the south end) because then they will get permenent residents that will stay there. I could be wrong, but I'm sure those places would be overpriced and vacant most of the year except when university students come around.

I dont really understand this sort of thing. Though it just appalls me the sort of things that happen around here. I plan to move one of these days to somewhere I can actually find a job and a place to live. I wish I knew where that would be... Though I hope to find it someday since I doubt I'll be able to do what I want to do in Halifax and plus struggeling to afford to pay my rent is kind of annoying too.
