I just read about Premier MacDonald's comments about the Armour Group's proposed waterside development, which was rejected by the Halifax city council. He says that he is going to do whatever it takes to see the project go ahead, even if it includes passing new legislation. I am so angry, so disgusted and so upset that this rainbow trout even dared to state so plainly that he intended to override the results of public process-- just because he didn't like them!
The arrogant little turnip thinks that in order to stop workers from heading west, we need a competitive business district in Halifax. First of all, workers aren't heading west because we don't have lots of glass highrises, but rather because they have a much healthier economy, for unrelated reasons. Second, why do these precious highrises have to go on top of heritage properties? Can't they go to, how about, the business park? There's plenty of room for them in Bayer's Lake.
I hope that Rodney MacDonald leaves municipal affairs in municipal hands, where the people can have a voice.
