Re: “Poor Boy

Amazing. Not your wholesome song- and - dance musical. A musician (Sherman) on the brink of insanity- checks into "the rivers edge hotel- a few blocks past ordinary street" Yes it's that kind of play.

The story follows Shermans inner-stuggle to cope with his late girlfriends death. His egos, memories, and personas are all shattered and conflicting one another(literally)- but the depressed Sherman is all that remains, fully intact and in control.

Starting in confusion and constantly challenging
boundries of thought- the audience becomes part of this inner-chaos that Sherman finds himself in. It is a 5 dimensional play that has so much depth and so many different ways to analyze it. Very original, with real substance, and real emotion. Acting was spectacular, the scores were truly remarkable- twisted and moving.
The problem with this play was that some themes could have been more clear, 75% of the audience didnt get it. And it was obvious by the end of the night after chatting with a few people- but that confusion in the audience only added to the atmosphere and made the play that much more enjoyable for those that did follow it.

So i felt as though i should give it a review it deserves. 10/10.
