Laura Merrimen and The Lonesome Travellers

Laura Merrimen's crooning voice and its hint of twang will shift into a rockier gear this Friday with her Lonesome Travellers. "Definitely a lot more rock 'n' roll than it's ever been before," says Merrimen over the phone. "This band is a lot more on the edge and harder hitting." She says she'll show off some new material, as well as break out the old and loved. After the show, Merrimen has three ECMA showcases (with the hint of a fourth), then she'll head to Toronto to show off her alt country tunes at Canadian Music Week. "I think I'm going to be solo…so I'll be doing a lot of new stuff---because it's time." Give her some early love at Tribeca before she heads out of Halifax---the show starts at 8:30pm. Holly Gordon
