Re: “You bunch of fuckheads

Though I'm all for the throttling of sex offenders, I am however not terribly educated in regards to the proper methods to address youth offenders so I will not comment on that aspect.

I believe the only reason why the Conservative (or pretty much any other political party for that matter) crack down so fiercely on Wacky Tobacky (to be crude) is that they have not found a way to monopolize and tax it yet. But this is only a guess on my part.

As for allowing the passing of Bill C-10, I'm sure Harper would have found some way of passing it regardless.

Re: “Oh meek Nova Scotians

I jest paingirl, I do not wish any harm on anyone, especially since the distraction and or abuse of a Transit Driver can lead to quite disasterous consequences for everyone involved.

Re: “Oh meek Nova Scotians

If you and your comrades truly wish to anger/annoy the drivers javagirl the best course of action would to have you and your chums consume copious amounts of methane inducing foods (ala "Epic Meal Time"), board a bus and then expell your built up internal methane until the bus is a rolling "fart factory" (to be crude). Though innocents are sure to be caught in the cross fire I'm sure the reaction of the bus driver you intend to target would offer significant emotional compensation.

Also, the police cannot arrest you for expelling internal methane since it is a natural bodily function.

Re: “Oh meek Nova Scotians

You could block the buses javagirl, however if you are looking to anger the ATU and the drivers I'm not sure that would be the most productive course of action as it would allow them to collect overtime since they are going to be late for circumstances beyond their control.

This in turn will anger management since now they're paying for overtime they fought to reduce and I'm sure they will pull some strings to have the police break your lines regardless of your rights.

This is only something to consider however, feel free to tell me to where to go otherwise...

Re: “Oh meek Nova Scotians

No argument whatsoever LIFE SUCKS that the general public was seriously affected by this, no argument there at all, and I understand why you're quite enraged by this.

I am not a driver, nor married to one, nor a union rep I can assure you. I was only stating what I saw was a defeat on the union's part if you look at what they gained and what they lost. HRM and Metro Transit Management managed to accomplish their objectives UNDER the pre-established budget dictated by council.

Didn't mean to come off as condescending towards you or anything just only stating my opinion.

Re: “A trust betrayed: Peter Kelly and the estate of Mary Thibeault

I wonder if it is such a great idea to allow Kelly to remain in power now that he is no longer seeking re-election? Especially in light of this revelation of misconduct...

Kelly, along with CAO Richard Butts (who does not reside in this city and has an air-tight contract that allows him to collect 18 months salary if he is fired "unjustly") don't really have a stake in this city anymore (or to begin with in Butts' case) and could potentially make decisions that might have serious ramifications in regards to our future and the future of HRM.

None of this sits particularly well with me.

Re: “Oh meek Nova Scotians

I don't think the union made off with a golden deal on this on as LIFE SUCKS put it. $4000 (taxable) signing bonus as well as 8% over four years in exchange for Rostering, Driver Pay Scale (new drivers will start at $18/HR and it will take five years for them to reach the full wage) and the dissolution of the Accident Review Board along with the severe public relations beating they took sounds looks more like a defeat to me. Also, remember the ATU isn't just drivers, there is also mechanics, ferry workers and other occupations amongst the union as well.
