Keith Cossey sets sail

A photography exhibit at ViewPoint looks at the intricacies of tall ships.

Keith Cossey's not just a photographer, but a man of the sea. After spending time navigating waters along the Atlantic coast and on the Bras d'Or Lakes on smaller boats he embarked on a bigger adventure, hopping onboard the three-masted schooner Arabella and exploring the waters of the British Virgin Islands, an experience he credits for igniting his tall ship fever. Cossey then began attending tall ship festivals and capturing the intricate parts the vessels and observing the people who spent their lives onboard. "It's celebrating that Maritime heritage and looking at the details that make the ships work," says Cossey about his first solo exhibit at Viewpoint. "I love sailing and the freedom of being out on the ocean, it's just you, the ship, the sea and the sky...it simplifies life." –Allison Saunders
