Designated bus lanes should come before bike lanes....a designated bus lane would have more of an impact. Bedford Hwy should be tolled at rush hour, and one lane for buses and HOV only, with severe fines for the idiots that would travel in it. Enforce the 'forced merge' or whatever it's called that allows buses to cut back in (and make the bus drivers a bit more aggressive....don't wait for the 6th car to let you in). Start with buses first, then HOV, then bikes. Red light cameras (to catch the selfish pr*cks that barrel through reds and nearly T-bone people)and increased (and enforced) distracted driving fines can pay for the improved transit. Oh, and the idea about city mgmt etc taking the bus for a month...one of the best ideas ever!
