Jazz artist Jeff Torbert has been playing the Stayner’s stage for a few years, but this is the first time he’s taking up the Saturday slot. “We’re excited that as a decidedly non-mainstream act we’re getting to play on their busiest night,” says Torbert, “Much fun!” David Christensen, who performs with Torbert but is often busy as he’s also Jenn Grant’s bandmate, is here for the gig this time and it’s the first time Acadia percussion professor Mark Adam is “along for the ride.” Torbert’s regular bandmates, Adam Fine and Matt Myer, will also be there to jazz the evening. –Holly Gordon
