Jack Johnson A Weekend at The Greek/Live in Japan

Jack Johnson A Weekend at The Greek/Live in Japan
With the Canadian winter fast approaching, our dreams of the sun, surf and sand are fading just as quickly. But the moment you pop this DVD into your player, the reality of the howling wind and blowing snow evaporates as if on cue. Jack Johnson's music has that magical quality that simply transports the listener to a warm sandy beach where nothing else matters but the music. This double-disc set focuses on two different periods in the career of Johnson. The first disc was recorded over two nights (September 19 and 20 of this year) at the Hearst Greek Theatre in California during the In Between Dreams tour. The second disc is a documentary of Johnson's 2004 tour of Japan (in support of On and On). The concert footage is unusual in the sense that rather than splitting time between 17 different camera angles, the show is blended together with interview segments from Johnson and his band The Animal Liberation Orchestra, keeping things from becoming monotonous. Better than a mug of warm cocoa, Johnson’s music melts away the impending chill of winter.
