In the Loop

Directed by Armando Iannucci (BBC)

See a junior minister, Simon Foster (Tom Hollander), in Britain's government put his foot in it, talking out of turn about a "foreseeable" war. Now, you don't see the British PM busily rationalizing an incursion, alongside America, into some unlucky country (in fudged Blair-Bush fashion). See Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi), the begrudging Scottish director of communications for the Brits, tear everyone a new one. Up and down the so-called policy chain in both UK and US departments he goes. See the news carry Foster's fuck-up and a leak of the doctored justification for war. But we don't see the media as people. And rightly so. As in real life, they let stupidity rule over reflection and thought. See this satire, spun from the TV show, The Thick of It.

  • Depends how much cash I, personally, will receive
