Aaaaarg......Editorials are written by the (get this!) editorial staff and, unless they are a specific opinion piece, are never attributed to one person as it is supposed to be a reflection of the views of the publication itself.

All newspapers do this! Is this really the first time you've noticed...?

"For the health care and infrastructure comment. Can you explain to me how other provinces do it without having to rip people off?"

    (1) Other provinces have higher income tax rates. Last I checked, we were still well below places like Quebec.

    (2) Other provinces have things like oil, manufacturing, potash, (real, lucrative) agriculture & fisheries

2% on sales isn't going to stop many people from buying many things. When times are tough for everyone, we have to give a little more to the best way we have thus far of fairly redistributing the wealth: gov't.

While I totally agree with the sentiments, I have noticed that there are still the same number of washrooms on campus. Bring a bottle, fill it when you need it, and frustrate the hell out of Dasani or whoever.

Not to call out anyone here (since I obviously don't know you or how you spend your time) but I tend to find that the ones who complain the loudest about 'those crooks stealing our money' etc etc tend to be the ones least informed and/or involved with government in the first place. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty mucked up in our system, and I was gritting my teeth through the whole budget story, but the whole basis of our democratic society is that informed and involved people can change what's going on at the top.

Not that I'm *actually* that involved (yes, I am lazy...), but I adjust my complaint level accordingly...

    Re: “O' Canada
I can't believe that out of that whole horrid throne speech, the only thing peope seem to be complaining about is a suggested one-line change to our national anthem. yeeeesh.
