Ian Startup

Ian Startup’s specialty was energy-efficient homes---he built the first R-2000 home on the south shore---and his wife, the naturopath Margo Kleiker’s expertise was in environmental sensitivity to toxins. Together they started one of the first environmentally responsible communities in Nova Scotia: Hawthorn Hill is located near Mahone Bay.
