Hoodwinked Too unhappily ever after

Fairly tale sequel "half-baked"

The sequel to Hoodwinked is a fairytale mishmash, spy-noir-western with too many characters to make it a compelling story. At “Sister Hood” training camp, Red (Hayden Panettiere) and the Sisters discover their chocolate truffle recipe (that makes its eater unstoppable) is missing. The Happily Ever After Agency dispatches Red and a “not so Big Bad Wolf” to rescue the recipe, the kidnapped Granny (Glenn Close) and Hansel and Gretel. Nothing unifies Mike D’Isa’s illusory world, with its mess of re-imagined fairytale and oddball characters, including a group of beefy yodelers, a talking harp and a gangster giant. Despite a few laughable moments and worthy allusions to classic cult films, Hoodwinked Too: Hood vs Evil is half-baked. The added cost of the 3D ticket tips the scale against seeing this movie.
