Handmade romance featured in musicians Jenn Grant and Daniel Ledwell’s rustic wedding (Ledwell proposed to Grant in the same barn they got married in, after hammering two pieces of copper into rings). Grant picked her own wildflowers and red berries, golden leaves and purple asters for her bridesmaids. A close friend made the bright red bridesmaids dresses, they enlisted musicians Rose Cousins (for photo duty) and Jason MacIsaac and David Christensen to perform during the ceremony (they also had a secret pop-up choir perform Elvis’ “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You”). A good old-fashioned east coast downpour necessitated blue rubber boots for the wedding party and rallied the troops. “Everyone connected so quickly and stuck together to support us and to gather round in cozy warm love-in fashion. It was a beautiful time to share,” says Grant. “I would like to end this with a quote from The Coast’s very own Tara Thorne, one of our closest and dearest friends, “I threw up at the Dowling house please bring me a cheeseburger.”
