Halifax comic artist on new Captain America title

Steve McNiven draws comic with movie opening soon

cap_mcniven.jpg
With Captain America: The First Avenger opening July 22, the star-spangled Marvel Comics hero is front and centre of the comic world at the moment. Marvel is relaunching the title to coincide with the movie, written by popular hardboiled writer Ed Brubaker and drawn by star artist Steve McNiven. McNiven is a Haligonian, who's worked on Marvel comics such as Wolverine, Avengers, the huge Marvel crossover Civil War and Amazing Spider-Man.

Haliwood Insider has also learned that Nemesis, the comic McNiven created with writer Mark Millar, is in development with Hollywood hitmnaking director Tony Scott (Top Gun, Man of Fire, Unstoppable) to direct. Rumoured budget for that is $150 million US. So, not a small, indie superhero movie, then.
