Halifamous: my greatest gives

Ross Burns of Gypsophilia shares his most inspired presents

Last Christmas I had a friend of mine who is a great illustrator, I gave him three old family photographs and he rendered them in a realistic watercolour and ink way. I gave one to my grandmother, one to my sister and one to my parents. One was my parents on their wedding day, one was my sister fallen asleep with a balloon after the [IWK] Kermesse when she was four and one of my grandfather and me when I was a couple of years old, fixing some stairs with a hammer, looking all old-time-y. [The illustrator] is Sydney Smith...he did the graphics for Hey Rosetta’s album and the last Gypsophilia poster. They were well-received and permanently displayed in their places of residence.
