Guitar hero

Feast your eyes (and wallets) on Stuart Lorriman's musician's swap meet and guitar show at the Forum.

Stuart Lorriman knows guitars. "I have been a musician since the late '60s and have always been a wheeler and dealer," says the member of Fossil Rock. Thanks to Lorriman, this weekend the Forum will be better known as guitar heaven, reigning in buyers, sellers, collectors, traders and braggers. "I have a sizable collection of rare vintage guitars and will bring some to, well, show off." He's used to buying and selling online, and after attending many vintage guitar shows south of the border he realized the swap meet format works. It works so well his last guitar show in Halifax saw about 700 people between booth renters and browsers. Regardless if you're in the market for a new baby, this is at the very least a great opportunity to daydream...and meet some fellow dreamers.

Saturday Oct 1, Halifax Forum, 2901 Windsor Street, 11am-4pm, $3, 826-2026
