Where family tradition and small business thrive.

Follow the road to fun
The Quinpool Road Mainstreet District Association is teaming up with the HFX Wanderers to bring the most action-packed Quinfest to date! It's their way of saying thank you to the wonderful community members for supporting them all year long.

The family-friendly event brings fun to the open street, and this year they're including more attractions that showcase the diversity in food and products found on Quinpool Road.

Halifax's favourite pub band Shameless will kick off the March Rally to get you in the party mood with live music. And it doesn't end there. Attendees can expect photo-ops with Ambassador Quinpool Rhoda (11-11:30 am) with an additional appearance by the Wanderer's mascot Rover, a poster-making session discussing the schools' climate strike, face painting, an obstacle course, bouncy castle and other carnival goodness. Make sure to get there early so you don't miss out on free food samplings at some of Quinpool's finest restaurants.

With all of the exciting Quinpool destination spots, visitors won't know what to check out first!  For more information visit

Saving soles
Bring your favourite footwear back to life at Quinpool Shoe Repair. With high-quality dye, new colourful soles and a quick shine—voila! You'll think they're brand new (and everyone else will, too). That's why we've trusted them with our shoe repair needs since 1958.

Their new location right across the street still brings a little slice of NYC to the HRM. Look around the walls and say hello to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra as you get your shoes shined.

Between key cutting, waterproofing by hand, rubber soles for winter and heel and zipper fixes, Quinpool Shoe Repair can do it all. You can even trust them with your belts and leather purses. Did we mention they have the tools to fix sports equipment and to sharpen your skates? And why not get some colourful new laces while you're at it? Your pieces deserve the best.

Quinpool Shoe Repair helps maintain the things we love, so we never have to say goodbye to old friends.
