Goo Goo Dolls "Slide" into the Cohn

Uh oh, is that a double entendre I smell?

Look - every so often, one of the ten people who read this blog regularly are like "Why are you so bitchy about the Backstreet Boys/Scott Stapp/David Usher/other 90s relics coming through town, you fucking cynical asshole" and yeah, you know what? It's true. They're easy targets. It'd be a lot edgier to rag on Cousins or Tanya Davis or some other up-and-comer that everyone loves, right?

Here goes. The debut of the new, "edgy" Scene and Heard, for you, my tens of readers.

(takes breath)

BOTH COUSINS AND TANYA DAVIS ARE TOTALLY DUMB, AND I FART IN THEIR GENERAL DIRECTION, AND YOU SHOULD TOTALLY GO SUPPORT THE "INTIMATE REUNION" TOURS OF BANDS LIKE THE GOO GOO DOLLS, WHO HAD THEIR SHOT ABOUT 14 TIMES, BUT YOU KNOW, THEY STILL DESERVE ANOTHER SHOT, AND NOT GO TO A LOCAL SHOW TO TRY SOMETHING NEW, BECAUSE WHO LIKES SURPRISES? NOT ME. WHAT IS THIS, MY BIRTHDAY? ALL I WANT IS TO DO IS HEAR "IRIS" LIVE FUCKING FINALLY OKAY.

Huh. What do you know? I feel better.

The Goo Goo Dolls play Feb 11 2011 at the Rebecca Cohn. Tickets are on sale Friday November 26th at noon from the Dalhousie Arts Centre Box Office, by phone at 902.494.3820 or 1.800.874.1669 and at artscentre.dal.ca. Check out a very rare live performance below.
