Go for the Silver and Gold at Eyelevel’s glam annual bash.

It’s gonna be “full of surprises,” promises Eyelevel’s director.

Eyelevel Gallery

Eyelevel Gallery, the Halifax art and community space since 1974, is hosting its Silver and Gold party on Thursday, a fundraiser at Pacifico. With a silent art auction, a gin-based Eyelevel cocktail special, the dance energy of DJ Mod Lewis (AKA Kate Walchuk) and MC David Dahms, Eyelevel's director Katie Belcher says "it's going to be full of surprises that you just know will be good."

The semi-formal holiday art extravaganza is Eyelevel's annual principle fundraising event, and the proceeds will go towards the gallery's programming, material needs and events like artists' talks. "It's an opportunity to raise funds to support what we do," says Belcher, in conjunction with grants from Arts Nova Scotia, HRM and Canada Council for the Arts. "It's more fun to focus on one big event per year. And the committee does a lot of work to make it fun and special and get everyone excited."

The best part of Silver & Gold is the silent auction with art from local artists, which you can preview at eyelevelgallery.ca. "We also have a raffle with lots of business donations from local north end businesses, as well as Dartmouth and downtown," says Belcher. "It's a great night for the arts."
