Go for Gold

Put your money where your eyes are at Eyelevel's Silver and Gold 2012 fundraiser.

Pull out last year's glitzy New Year's outfit that you thought you'd never wear again and stock your wallet with good will because it's time to put your money where your eyes are and level up. "We try to focus our fundraising so that we don't have to nag people throughout the year," says gallery director Michael McCormack. "Last year we raised almost $3,000." That's good, but we think they can do better, don't you? With contributing artists this year like Janet Kravetz, Michael Fernandes, John Murchie, Susan Feindel, Kelly Zwicker and Chris Foster (his sculpture pictured) they're sure to be on most art lovers' radars. And after the art auction winds down about half-way through the night, the real party gets started with DJs KZ and KW, door prizes galore (donated by Dee Dee's, Taz, Strange Adventures, Bogside Gallery and the Halifax Mooseheads) and a 50/50 draw. But, wait, your fancy duds are at the cleaner's? No worries. "It's fun, but we don't want it to be stuffy or exclusive. It's supposed to be special, so wear whatever you consider to be special," says McCormack. Full body glitter it is.
