Game Dev Story

(Kairosoft) Android, iOS, Windows

Disclaimer: This is a highly addictive game, and you may be wishing you never heard of it after you try it. I knew I was in trouble when I was playing it while brushing my teeth, shaving and other tasks. The player controls a video game studio, developing games on a range of consoles including the Playstatus 2 and the Intrendo Whoops. You start off with a couple of low-level coders, but soon you’ll be creating new genres, advertising your products and moving your company to swankier offices. You have to be careful to manage your resources and staff appropriately. Your success is at the mercy of video game critics and fans, just like the real world. At its heart, this is a great micromanagement game with lots of moving parts. For $3.99 at the app store, it does a great job of making your friends and family wonder where you are.
