I don’t know anything about dance, but I do know what I like, and I like—really, really like—Maritime Dance Performance Group’s Infringe. I like the way these dancers tell stories with every inch of their bodies. I like the unexpected mix of fierce and sweet. I like the eclectic choices in music. (My favourite is the stirring “Drummer’s Reel” by The Dhol Foundation.) I like the costumes with their crisscrossed straps and artfully draped ribbons. I especially like the jaw-dropping athleticism and intensity of guest artist Rhonda Baker. Even if you think dance is not your thing, I’m willing to bet you’ll find something to like about this show.
