Go God Go

Go God Go
(Sparks Music)
If you were to judge Cork, Ireland's Fred from the first track, "Skyscrapers," you'd think they were cut from the same sparkled cloth as Scissor Sisters. But then Fred does the hustle from disco hand-claps to 1980s Housemartins happiness on the next track, "Running," then build up to an Arcade Fire reference, with gang vocals and thumping percussion, on "The Lights." Every song on Go God Go seems to be built by different bands in different eras, but they're all charming and sweet. Apparently the Irish five-piece are known for their energetic live shows, so check Fred out at the Pop Explosion, Tuesday night, 11:30pm at Coconut Grove.
