Remarks: Smith says the problem can be traced back to the still-under construction Citadel High School, which will draw its heat from the nearby hospital. “There won’t be a furnace in the school—the pipes will run under the road. They’re not eager to pave that over until those things are installed”—this spring. However, Jessome calls us a day later to tell us that he’s spoken with the school’s contractor, and they plan to immediately look at fixing the problem. Huh. Let’s watch Bell Road to see how this plays out.

Who's Responsible?: Steve Smith with NS Transportation and Public Works (424-2233); Gordon Jessome with HRM’s Planning and Development (490-6840).
