Someone is killing the north end’s pedestrian signals, pedestrians lights that don't light up.

Remarks: On the way to investigate a reader’s report about one blown light, we stumbled across a couple more. And that’s probably just the tip of the incandescent iceberg. Fillipone has to keep around 5,000 bulbs screwed in at 240 “signalized intersections” across the city; he aims to get repairs made within 24 working hours of a complaint.

Who's Responsible?: Mike Fillipone, the supervisor in the city’s traffic light department who sends out light-repair crews. Phone 490-4788.
