It was shoulder to shoulder downtown last Saturday night for Nocturne 2011, a magical night of lights, bubbles, stars, gum, music and art. Nocturne organizer Rose Zack breaks down Saturday night's attendance: "Based on perfect weather, increased attendance everywhere, large crowds and lineups at galleries and installations, increased ferry traffic, social media numbers, increased media coverage, the success of the the iPhone app and web traffic, running out of almost double the guide print run and increased guide distribution and just generally overall awesomeness, we feel confident that we surpassed our goal of 17,000-20,000 and had well over 20,000 in attendance. We are still crunching the numbers, but I estimate somewhere between 20,000-25,000."

Daaamn, gang. Congrats! Make sure you are among the throng next year at Nocturne's fifth year, Saturday, October 13, 2012. Be there or totally be a loser.
