FeBREWary Fest rocks the Oasis

Scoundrel's Choice promotions help turn a karaoke stage into an up-and-coming downtown music venue.

The friendly neighbourhood Oasis Pub and Eatery is developing a bit of a split personality---suddenly it's a little bit sports bar and a little bit music venue. That comes partly in thanks to music keeners like the folks at Scoundrel's Choice, who know potential when they see it. Fans of theme events, they've paired two great things, beer and music, for Friday's basement brouhaha. Sip on $10 pitchers while taking in up-and-coming rockers The Regal Beagle Band and Floodland and the conceptual blues-rock Hello John Project, whose songs tell the story of the fictional John Poet. This is only one trick up the Scoundrels' sleeves, they're working towards vaudeville-style shows in the future so keep them, and the Oasis, on your watch list.

Friday February 17, Oasis Pub and Eatery, 5675 Spring Garden Road $5, 10pm

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
