I love a Q&A as much as my collection of ties and shoes—136 and 42 respectively. My mother counted them in an effort to shame me, try again, lady. This being the Fashion Issue, I decided to have a Q&A with some Haligonians whose style I admire.

What's the first app you open in the morning?

Where's your favourite local place to shop?
Makenew—Anna curates a fantastic selection of jewelry, home/paper goods, accessories, and clothing items. I'm also a big admirer of RCHMND.

Which trend would you like to bring back?
Head scarves, neck scarves, bandanas, turbans and berets.

An orange 1970s theatre costume cape I snagged from local vintage gem Dress In Time.

Iris Apfel, Tracee Ellis Ross and Solange.

Which trend would you like to bring back?
I don't necessarily conform to trends. If I want to bring back a look from the past I bring it back. I still dress like a rapper from the '90s every now and then!

"What was I thinking when—"
I thought it was a good look to stick labels from juice and iced tea bottles all over my moped helmet?

If you could only wear one colour for the rest of your life what would it be?

What would you bring on a one-way trip to Mars?
First of all, is Mars cold or hot? Regardless, I would bring a cashmere blanket, a book, facial serum, eye cream and a lot of water.

"What was I thinking when—"
I wore a different coloured Juicy Couture velour sweatsuit every day of the week?

What's your favourite piece of clothing?
It's a black top hat that I steal from my sister Musemo.

What would you bring on a one-way trip to Mars?
I would bring my family, friends, fuel reserves, food, lots of water, books, music and weapons (in case we bump into aggressive life-forms).

What's your favourite piece in your closet?
My cream tutu skirt from Envy! Any time I pop it on I know I'm in for a fabulous time. I wear it all year round by swapping out the shoes for booties, and a crop top for a turtleneck.

What's your favourite place to shop in town?
I love Makenew. But I also love Sattva Boutique, the pieces are curated so well! (Short's answers compiled by Stephanie Johns)
