Eudaimonia | Corridor Gallery | Galleries | Halifax, Nova Scotia | THE COAST

This is a past event.

Interdisciplinary artist Laura Bucci delivers a set of hand-stitched textile panels that explore the nature of happiness and well-being, saying in her artist's statement: "Eudaimonia, an old Greek philosophical term, is commonly translated as happiness or welfare, well-being, human flourishing or prosperity. Over 2000 years ago the Stoics contemplated this question and today many of us are still in search of the answer. I began contemplating my answer by engaging in and recording my routines for a year in 2017. The following year I began hand-stitching my data set, and thus through dedicated hand work I continued to contemplate my answer to eudaimonia."
