Dorothea Paas is out of this world

Laughing, joking and baby aliens are vital to the TO band.

Dorothea Paas is out of this world
Dorothea Paas—the band—is "something you might not totally expect but you’ll hopefully enjoy!" says Dorothea Pass—the band's founder.

If Toronto art-rock outfit Dorothea Paas was a movie theatre treat, "we'd be a hot fresh popcorn with Reese's Pieces in the bag, melting slightly with butter," says arty Torontonian rocker Dorothea Paas. "Classic, comforting, with a hint of sweetness and something you might not totally expect but you'll hopefully enjoy!" What started as a solo project morphed into a three-piece with Mark Streeter and Halifax's Graeme Stewart. "Laughing and joking is a vital part of our band," Paas says. "We even put on wacky reverb effects that make our voices sound like baby aliens sometimes." With an album coming soon, this band is out of this world.
