Re: “And round and roundabout we go....

Umm ... about being unhinged, there's clearly something wrong with me 'cause I never had a problem with the old Armdale and Mic Mac Rotaries. Liked both, especially the Armdale one. It was superior to the present version.

Re: “This week at city council

Before "the way council rolls now" becomes entrenched, a report on who, how, why and consequence is sorely needed. Until folks understand what's changed and why -- and its impact on governance -- they'll not protest and nothing will change or be modified. I'd like to know how we got here.

Re: “Dear Mayor Savage

Yes, wow. A civic love letter, stunning in scope and affection. It brings a favourite quotation to mind, one spoken and lived by Dag Hammarskjold, Swedish diplomat, economist, UN Secretary-General and Nobel Peace Prize winner: "Only he deserves power who every day justifies it."

Re: “Build accountability into civic life

Powerful piece. Agree with all observations and recommendations. Peter-Kelly-questions should be put to current and prospective councillors; they would serve as a litmus test. Answers are needed and would be revealing, either in their substance or absence. Quality of life in HRM is directly proportional to the competence, integrity and vision of Council and Councillors. Halifax deserves better.

Re: “No amount of spin can hide ticket scandal facts

Thank you for providing much-needed clarity. The AG's report was barely tabled before whitewashing, minimizing and deflection began. Unethical, devious complicity, irresponsibility and incompetence pervade this debacle. Try as they might, no parties will get out from under. "Success has many fathers but failure is an orphan."
