Day 1: Propeller IPA vs Faxe 10% and Sweet potato fries vs Celery sticks w/blue cheese dressing

The battle begins between beer versus bar snacks

If you have no idea what the heck is going on here, welcome to The Coast's March Madness! Here's a little background. We've picked two classic after work salves—beer and bar snacks—and pitted them against each other like a Tiger Mom would two competitive siblings. What will be your choice for the ultimate winner? Salty snacks or satiating swill? Check out our original brackets below:

Today marks Day 1 of our battle to the finish, opposing our number one seed, beloved local Propeller IPA, against the can you tape to your hands, number 16 seed, Faxe 10%. They both pack a punch, to be sure, but which one will bring the TKO?

Once you've finished your drinks, don't forget about the snacks. Sweet potato fries, those cheery orange nuggets of flavour, face off against celery sticks with blue cheese dressing, the perennially discarded leavings after a solid chicken wings session. But who knows, maybe they're your favourite part. If you are a huge celery stick fan get the word out and save those pale green fibre sticks from what is sure to be an uphill battle.

Voting closes tomorrow, when you can rejoice over the winners and vote for tomorrow's match-ups. Voting fiends can register here for daily poll reminders.
