David Kikuchi joins the circus

I'd love to have Fall River's own David Kikuchi around to open jars and stuff. Those pipes are nuts. He's on the rings, every muscle and vein a'popping. Wow. Apparently this is his last Olympics, and afterwards he's joining the circus, literally--Cirque de Soleil. (Correction; it's actually Grant Golding who is running away with the circus...)

So it looks like the men's team has qualified as one of the eight teams that will compete in the team final August 11. Not sure who's made it through, as only 24 individuals compete for the all-round title Aug. 14, and 8 athletes compete for each of the various apparatus titles Aug. 17-19. Apparatus is such a great word.

UPDATE: The men and Shewfelt did not quality. They came in 9th. Good news is that Nathan Gafuik and Adam Wong will go on in the individual rounds.
