Dashboard Confessional

A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar

Published August 28, 2003.Dashboard ConfessionalA Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar (Vagrant)The painfully titled third Dashboard Confessional record proper is Chris Carrabba's most collaborative effort yet. Yet its full band sound surprisingly does nothing to diminish the superlative lyrical stream of rock's most sensitive former schoolteacher. (Did you think it was Sheryl Crow?) Carrabba's broken heart has been front and centre on past efforts; here he is in love and just as passionate. And now those emo kids finally have something to smile about. —Tara
