Creationism "myopic drivel"

To the editor,

Is teaching school children that humans co-existed with dinosaurs on an earth that is only 6,000 years old, and that we all descended from two nudists who got tricked by a talking snake, "bat-shit insane?" Of course it is. It is as absurd as believing "exorcist" is a legitimate job description, or that a dude could fit two of every single creature on a boat. Perpetuators of this world view need to be confronted and their ideas exposed as myopic drivel. Kudos to Tim Bousquet for doing just that in his review of Expelled ("Artificial intelligence," June 26). It was refreshing to read a piece that didn't pretend to give Ben Stein and creationism the respect they obviously don't deserve.
