Re: “Quiet on the set a year after Stephen McNeil’s fateful budget

I suppose my point is, I've never went on it. Whether I've had an absolutely devastating year or a fairly decent one (meaning very steady..not neccesaroty monatary). And I'm responding to what sounded like an assumption that "film workers" just go on ei. Many of use work all year. Many of us work for free when we can afford it. Many of us do favours for businesses or organizations creatively without being paid because that's what happens with artists. The film industry is an attraction to outside investors. It's just alot more profitable to the economy than a call center. All those people that fall under the labour rebate, pay alot of taxes. They are self employed. It's very competitive and many of those people are world class and have invested into their studies and have in turn worked in an industry that boosted the economy.

No. Actually I didn't. I have many jobs. You have to as an artist. Film is a part of my work. And a substantial amount goes to investing in self produced work like shows or space rentals. Hiring artists. Print and supplies and whatever else you have to do.
I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.

Re: “The six Facebook posts that Dal suspended 13 students for

I agree. Obviously it's all in good fun. And to see the poor guys' point better I just imagined if it were black images and students they were talking about, and made the jokes about lynching, or instead of housewife, a house slave, and thought about switch those memes to those those funnier racist memes going around, then thought what if it were police academy instead of dentists. With all that, I finally imagined that, since I'm black myself, how I would take it.

The answer is: perfectly fine. I know I would enjoy those future police looking over my kids..

But then again it really isn't the point because that would be incredibly brutal and I doubt anyone would do it in case they either insulted the wrong person, we're just a good human, or actually didn't want to mess their career up.

But it's only women so whatever. Who cares? Lighten up ladies.

Well,. Thanks for your time. I gotta go mansplain the oscars....
