Viva La Vida

Viva La Vida
Viva La Vida is one of only two discs that have managed to wedge themselves into my stereo for weeks at a time recently (the other being Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III). This is not to say it was love at first listen---Violet Hill didn't elicit a response until it was presented with the other nine tracks on Coldplay's fourth studio album. It was during the third and fourth spins of the disc that the album began to reveal its myriad sounds to me: tracks like '42,' 'Lost!' and 'Strawberry Swing' simply sunk their musical hooks in deep and refused to relinquish their hold. Coldplay are definitely proving that they could very well become the next U2.
