Cocktails to watch Mad Men by

Mad Men's third season premieres Sunday, and we've picked out a few cocktail bars in the city where you can get into character.

Clicking around facebook recently, you may be wondering where the new 1960s-inspired caricature profile pictures are materializing. Fedoras, sheath dresses, slim suits, pocket squares and a martini or cocktail glass in hand---style aficionados are drooling, writers and ad execs are rushing after work to get home to watch it, and you shouldn't miss it any longer: Mad Men is the creative world's latest crack hit, without the shakes and (unhealthy) addiction. The show's third season premieres Sunday, and we've picked out a few cocktail bars in the city where you can get into character and feel just as Mad as the ad and junior execs on the show. –Holly Gordon

The Fireside Bar/Restaurant
1500 Brunswick

When asked if she's heard of Mad Men, bartender Shelley Ramsay quickly answers, "I do! I love it. Jon Hamm. Mmmm." She says all the bartenders at the Fireside know how to make the classic martinis, although the menu is geared more towards newer cocktail mixes. Check out their martini Mondays ($4.50 instead of $6.75) for a little of both worlds.

Mosaic Social Dining Lounge
1584 Argyle

This classy cocktail lounge prides itself on making the classics such as the Vesper, Sidecar and what Meghan Swanburg, bartender and manager, calls the "legendary cocktail:" the Manhattan. Cooper Tardival's award-winning True North is also featured at this evening drink spot.

The Bitter End Martini Bar and Restaurant
1572 Argyle

Argyle seems to be a popular location to open cocktail lounges, so why mess with a proven recipe? The Bitter End holds its end of the quality martini stick with martini Mondays and Sundays (martinis for $5-$6 instead of $9.50), and more than 30 drinks to quench your Mad thirst.

Eve Cocktail Lounge
The Westin Nova Scotian, 1181 Hollis

A cocktail lounge niched in a hotel is the perfect equation for swanky drink sipping. Eve boasts an extended collection of vodka, gin and scotch, as well as the fixings for a classic or modern cocktail. Have a seat in its vintage architectural lounge and forget about workday worries.
