Ciné-Conférence BOW'T TRAIL

A highlight on this year's Francofest schedule, BOW'T TRAIL is a roving performing arts piece turned film: Taking traditional African dance and choreography through North and South America, BOW'T TRAIL tells how African cultures and rhythms have unfolded, collaborating in each destination with local drummers and artists to capture, as project coordinators describe it, "another, more positive, angle on the triangular trade legacy—but also the history hiding behind the products and cultures ubiquitous in our daily life, such as coffee, chocolate, Reggae, Blues and Jazz!"
After time spent in Martinique, Haiti and Brazil, the project comes to Halifax to explore the history of African Nova Scotians. This screening discusses the Halifax leg of the project while also screening footage of the Brazil BOW'T Trail.
