Though he constantly sounds like he’s losing it---and very few moments in this hour are not laced with obscenities---Rock leaves you with a warm feeling, much like Bill Cosby 30 years ago. Few comics are as brutally honest about touchy subjects. Rock knows O.J. did it and he understands why---something about alimony and the boyfriend driving the Ferrari. His dissertation on the class divide among American blacks is worthy of a 20-page article in Harper’s. Soul food, rap, platonic love... none of it will be the same after you’ve heard Rock. Even Nelson Mandela gets a zing and it’ll bust your gut every time.
