Chaharshanbeh Suri (Fire Jumping Festival)

Halifax has marked this event every year since 2004, but the tradition dates back 3,000 years and always falls on the final Tuesday (by the Iranian calender). There will be 'Ash', Ajeel nuts, Iranian dance and music and vocal performances as well as a DJ. A fire permit will be obtained for the Fire Jumping. Fire Jumping dates back to the Iranian Zoroastrians' ancestors and serves to improve and maintain health through making your face red by the fire, replacing the yellow.
